About Us

Centrestage aims to give anyone, of any background and experience, the opportunity to participate in music theatre-related activities in a fully self-contained rehearsal and performance venue, using the most advanced technology available. Involvement in these activites builds self-confidence, teaches teamwork, pride in a professional and high quality final production and, above all, is fun.

Classes at each level will cover a wide range of musical theatre material appropriate to the age group and rehearsals will culminate in public performances each term.

Steady progression is built in from the earliest stages, where the youngest students learn to sing in unison and basic harmony, with simple choreography, progressing up to 3 part vocal work, culminating in fully staged SATB vocal work from S5/6 groups onwards.

No audition is required for entry to Centrestage.

The only requirement is that you enjoy music theatre and love to sing! However, auditions will be held for solo and ensemble work as required by the repertoire chosen.

No prior experience is necessary but the highest standards of behaviour and commitment will be expected from everyone involved.

Pupils participating in Music Theatre classes will have the opportunity to be assessed in the internationally recognised Trinity Guildhall Music Theatre examinations, which are offered from Grade 1 to Grade 8 standard. These assessments are not compulsory but will be made available to those who wish to gain a qualification from their studies. Further details are available from Centrestage staff.
