Centrestage has reached its 5 year milestone and is privileged to announce the appointment of Marie Macklin, CEO of Klin Homes as its Patron.
Centrestage was opened in Kilmarnock in 2006 with the belief that everyone can gain significant social benefits from participating in theatre and arts based activities. Leadership through the Arts is at the core of all activities and over 850 members of the community – aged from 6 months to 90 years – participate in Centrestage’s mainstream and outreach work every week.
Centrestage director Fiona McKenzie said, “Marie’s vision, drive, passion for Kilmarnock and conviction that all sectors of community can work together to make real societal change is a true inspiration to us. We share her belief that there is so much to be proud of in the town’s history but the future has so much potential to be tremendously exciting. If we can all work together to capture the energy, talent and creativity that lies at the heart of the town, we have the chance to recreate a community alive with energy and possibility. We are honoured that Marie has agreed to act as our patron.”
Marie Macklin, CEO Klin Homes said “It’s a honour to become Centrestage’s Business Patron. I have watched Centrestage grow and become a fantastic professionally ran community based organisation in Kilmarnock, under the leadership of Fiona McKenzie, Paul Mathieson and their team. It is now time to showcase Centrestage to the rest of Scotland and I am looking forward to working with all the team in order to ‘Make It Centrestage and Make It Happen’.
