SUPPORT ACTS ANNOUNCED

JJ Gilmour and Kim Edgar will be among the acts providing support at the Kilmarnock Fair Festival when the event returns to Kilmarnock's Centrestage in July.

Singer songwriter JJ Gilmour will support Brian Kennedy on Saturday, July 7. Gilmour enjoyed success across Europe with the band The Silencers and has more recently turned his hand to writing musicals Dancing Shoes: The George Best Story and The Titanic Boys, about a group of young men who built, sailed and died on the ship, which opens in Belfast this August. JJ Gilmour's third album "Slocomotion" will be released in July 2012. Brian Kennedy is also supported by local musician Robbie Dale.

Kim Edgar, Edinburgh based pianist and song writer, will support pop duo Hue and Cry on Thursday, July 5. Edgar has released two acclaimed albums - "Butterflies and Broken Glass" and "The Ornate Lie" - and regularly attracts five star reviews. She has also appeared on BBC2's Later with Jools Holland.

On Wednesday, July 4, Scottish band The Seventh Sons will support Jim Suhler and Monkey Beat. The Seventh Sons mix 60s/70s British R & B with Motown Soul and Chicago Blues and regularly gig around Glasgow.

The Kilmarnock Fair Festival runs at Centrestage Music Theatre from Wednesday, July 4 to Sunday, July 8 2012. For a full programme of events or to book tickets please contact the box office at Centrestage, 11-13 James Little Street, Kilmarnock or on 01563 551505; or visit www.centrestagemusictheatre.org.uk
