Under The Sea
Last weekend, Centrestage audiences were taken on a journey “Under the Sea” as the young people from Centrestage’s Ardeer project performed their production of “TheLittle Mermaid Jr.”
In the 18 months since the project launched, supported by the STV appeal, the young participants have gone from strength to strength, working together to create their first full musical production. Performers and crew members aged 8-16yrs have worked throughout the Summer to meet the challenge and the standards that they achieved brought the audience to their feet. It’s very clear that Team Ardeer are going to achieve great things in the future and the whole Centrestage team is looking forward to setting them some big challenges!
Centrestage’s “Under the Sea” themed October Camp also took place last week and attracted children from all over Ayrshire with a showcase on Wednesday 14th October at 2.30pm. The young performers delighted their audience and Musical Director, Matt Allison said “We all had an absolute blast putting the show together, I’m so proud of every single one of our performers. It was a privilege to work with them.”
This is a double cabaret weekend at Centrestage. On Saturday 24th October at 7pm, “Musical Legends” will take to the stage, with classic songs from musical theatre for everyone to enjoy. Then, for younger audiences, Centrestage’s junior cabaret group FIZZ and their special guests, will perform cartoon classics 2pm on Sunday 25th October in “Fabulous Fizzney”. Feel free to dress up as your favourite fairytale character- and that includes mums and dads!
