With preparations for Centrestage’s “James and the Giant Peach” well underway, the Junior Actors are simply buzzing for their fantastical show about one boy’s magical journey with a host of colourful insect friends. The show runs this Saturday at 4pm and is sure to be fun for the whole family.
Centrestage likes to keep busy as they are also working on their wonderful production of “Cats” which will take the stage in the final weekend in March, starting with a bang when the production company kicks off with two spectacular shows in the first night. This classic Andrew Lloyd Webber production is based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot and features the unforgettable “Memory”.
The musical tells the story of the Jellicle Cats, and the night they make what is known as "the Jellicle choice" and decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life. “Cats” first came to the stage in 1981 and achieved many great awards such as the Laurence Oliver Awards and the Tony Awards. Centrestage is known for pulling off these wonderful productions and putting their own spin on things and as no exception to this, “Cats” is expected to be one of the most significant productions to take place with Centrestage Music Theatre.
The show will take place over two weekends, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th of March and Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of April, so there is no excuse not to see this magnificent show!
