Whisky, Glorious Whisky
The cast of 'Whisky Galore! - A Musical' are enjoying a few drams themselves after two successful shows at the weekend. The CS Actors presented the tale of 50,000 cases of whisky washing ashore on a Hebridean island and the locals fight to claim their bounty.
The company were joined by local singing group The Unlikely Lads who made their acting debut. The group- average age 70 ½!- who are all part of the Onthank Men’s Club, have now been singing together for over two years and are going from strength to strength after organiser John Cree approached Centrestage director Fiona McKenzie to become involved in their rehearsals for a Christmas singalong back in 2012. Now, the 18 strong group has built up a great following, regularly performing at venues from Onthank to Centrestage. The Unlikely Lads first headline show 'An Unlikely Day Out' will take place at Centrestage on November 22nd with their very special guests.
Next up on the Centrestage calendar is Disney’s ‘Camp Rock’ with the 10-14yrs Music Theatre Company. The musical follows the members of Camp Rock as they compete with their sworn rivals across the lake at Camp Star. The show is based on Disney’s hit movies ‘Camp Rock’ and ‘Camp Rock 2’ and features the popular songs ‘This Is Me’, ‘Can’t Back Down’ and ‘We Rock’.
